Liverpool’s strike force ran riot last night as Fowler, Morientes and Crouch all scored during the 5-1 demolition of Chris Coleman’s Fulham side. Fowler so unlucky since his return to Anfiled, with three disallowed goals, last night put the doubters to bed with a trademark flicked header after Kewell had crossed from the left. This sparked delirious celebrations among the kop faithful as the Liverpool legend did what he does best. Colin’s John produced a scare with a first half equaliser for the Londoners, before Michael Brown put the Reds back in front with an own goal. In the second half both Morientes and Crouch got on the score sheet with close range efforts before Warnock completed the rout in the final minute. Despite what was obviously a magnificent result there must be an air of caution about last nights game. Fulham have not won away all season and their back four has now conceded twelve goals in the last three games. But in saying that if Liverpool’s strikers can keep putting away the opportunities then the Reds have a great chance of clawing United back and going all out to claim second place in the championship race.
