Things go from bad to worse for manager Rafael Benitez, in a week to forget for the Anfield supremo. First there was the disappointing defeat to Porto in the champions league, a game which in terms of possession and clear goal scoring chances could have seen Ronald Koeman’s team on the end of a thrashing. Then Alonso was controversially sent off for falling over and accidentally clipping Arsenal defender Senderos, a decision which the club can’t appeal against because it resulted from a second caution and not a straight red card. To make matters worse in the same game Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard gifted Thierry Henry the winner with a slack back pass which the French international intercepted then coolly finished. Finally there is the on going debate as to which partnership to play upfront, with Peter Crouch again missing a number of good chances in yesterdays Highbury defeat. With Fernando Morientes a shadow of his former self, Robbie Fowler yet to score since his return as the prodigal son and Cisse and Crouch both firing blanks it looks like the Benitez revolution has slipped into reverse. Fulham’s leaky defence is next up in the league, so there could be a chance to get the goals flowing again. One things for sure Liverpool need a predator and fast.

At the end of the day, the team managers are responsible for their team's performance as they take the final decision on who is to play on a given day. If the team performs, the team gets the credit but if not, it is the managers who take the blame on the final choice of players. Their job isn't easy and they are under constant pressure as to the various tactics that are to be taken which have to be examined in the minutest detail before the final choice is made. It is not an easy situation to be in and we have to give them credit for their hard work. After all, not all of our plans work out in the way we would like them to!!Masters Golf Tickets

www.sportevents.com : I wonder why the football game managers are reluctant to use television recordings as proof, after all is not cricket a game with an equally popular following and juggling as much currency as football. If cricket decision can be based on the ‘third eye’, why cannot football decisions be based on the same? I empathize totally with Rafael Benitez in his frustrations. It cannot be an easy crown to wear; I mean the job of a manager of a Technical Analysis football club like Liverpool. Even at home, we bite away our nails and sit on the edge of the chair while the game rises from nadir to zenith and back, and imagine the working of the minds of these poor guys? I wouldn’t want his job, at any cost!
